NITE MAVERICK - Chantelle AKA bonnywanderer
A Journey of Recovery, Resilience, and Inspiring Women to Reach Beyond the Impossible
Chantelle, known on Instagram as bonnywanderer stands as a testament to the power of resilience and to the impact one person’s story can have, especially for women pushing boundaries in the outdoors. Her journey began with the loss of her father to pancreatic cancer, supporting her mother through breast cancer, and facing her own thyroid cancer diagnosis. Amidst this hardship, she found solace and strength in the mountains; a discovery that changed the course of her life.
Since that first summit, Chantelle has climbed 213 of the 214 Lake District Wainwrights, completed the Welsh 3000s, and summited Mount Kilimanjaro.
As her ambitions grew, so did her personal challenges. In 2024, she underwent two major hip reconstruction surgeries due to a rare condition, hip dysplasia. Learning to walk again was a battle, but it never broke her spirit. Now living with hip arthritis, she has worked tirelessly to rebuild her strength and is now preparing for her next challenge: a solo ascent of Lobuche East (6,119m) in Nepal, October 2026.
Chantelle embodies what it means to be a NITE Maverick proving every day, that limits are meant to be challenged and that the outdoors is a place for all.
Determined to inspire
Chantelle’s mission isn’t just personal. She is fiercely determined to inspire other women to step boldly into adventure, especially those who believe they “can’t.” Having spent years as the only woman in a specialist tactical support team of thirty in a male-dominated industry, she knows the power of representation and the importance of showing what’s possible. Her message is clear: you don’t need permission to chase adventure, and you don’t have to wait for someone else to lead the way.
Much of her time is spent exploring remote, off-grid locations across the UK in her campervan, and she’ll soon be solo hiking in the Alps. She’s drawn to wild places that test her physically and mentally, always seeking the path less travelled. For Chantelle, every climb is a chance to prove to herself and other women that courage and capability are not defined by gender.
As Worn By Chantelle
On every adventure, Chantelle relies on her NITE MX10 Storm, a watch designed to endure, just like her. She’s part of a growing community of women who trust NITE watches for their reliability and style.
The MX10 was born from the legacy of the original field watch, a timepiece crafted for soldiers who required precision and durability in the most challenging environments. Drawing from this military heritage, we designed the MX10 to endure, perform, and withstand the toughest conditions. Now in its third generation, the MX10 continues to prove its popularity and reliability.
